'Supporting our community for over 19 years'
Community Food SA Inc is a not for profit charity with Christian ethics. Through the Food Centre at Kilburn, it provides low cost groceries to people in need.

The Food Centre was opened on 4 July, 1990 and has nearly 100 volunteers who help in the daily operation.Our mission is to support people physically, emotionally and spiritually in times of financial need.

WHO ARE WE ? WHAT DO WE DO ?
- Food vouchers and food for hampers :
Community Food SA Inc. accepts food vouchers from welfare organisations and provides groceries to these organisations for emergency food relief.
- Volunteering :
Volunteers play an important role in the organisation at every level. Volunteering is fun, rewarding and a great way of meeting people- they are our lifeblood.Please ring us today to find out how you can volunteer.

HOW DO WE DO IT?
Community Food SA is supported by the generous assistance of sponsors, without whom the organisation could not provide its services to people in need. Donations of cash and in kind assistance are critical to the running of the food centre and we welcome all
supporters of the food centre.

Community Food SA Inc provides over 1,500 low cost groceries including fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, meat, poultry, fish, dairy products and a wide range of essential products. The Food Centre has complimentary services that support its core service and these include:
- Employment Pathways :
Through work experience and volunteering this program offers participants tangible and transferable skills in the food, hospitality and community services industries.
 - Cooking Demonstrations :
In conjunction with Community Foodies, the centre conducts monthly cooking demonstrations giving people real skills and experience in:
- Nutrition and healthy eating messages
- How to eat well on a budget
- How to present food
- Taking the stress out of food shopping

- Arnolds Place :
A low cost cheery coffee shop that is popular with customers and community groups. Arnolds offers low cost snacks, cappuccino,
teas and soft drinks as well as freshly made cakes, soups and biscuits.
